I made this piece as I was exploring times in my life when I felt intensely connected emotionally to people and experiences that were geographically distant from me. This triptych looks back on my relationship with my best friend in middle school who lived in Houston.

This collage was inspired by the poem, “The Glutton” by Sylvia Plath. With these images I wanted to convey the concept of reckless and excessive consumption, both through the “eating” of the chocolates, as well as the ostentatious nails and jewelry.
